After 3 Days, 702 Man Hours, and an Infinite Amount of Shoveling, Mack Landscape Management has Conquered Jonas.

First, we at Mack Landscape Management want to thank all of our clients who patiently waited to be dug out. This storm pushed our crews and equipment to the brink and we understand the frustration we caused you. We understand we have much to improve upon despite this being a "once-in-seven-years" event. We all assure you next time you will be the first ones with cleared and salted drives in the neighborhood.

Mack Landscape is investing in top-of-line machinery in order to insure that you are taken care of in the way you have grown accustom to. Premium, unfaltering, and reliable service. You can expect faster service, and reliable personnel answering your emails and phone calls rapidly. This storm required even Eric Mack, the owner, to work nearly 72 hours straight. That goes for our 18 employees as well, who managed to push through with a total of 8 hours down time within that 3 day pandemonium.

Mack Landscape Management collectively used 32,000 pounds of salt product, and removed 384,000 cubic feet of snow.

Some much needed R & R half way through the storm.

According to the National Weather Service, King of Prussia got the most snow in the region, measuring 26.1 inches. Officially, there were 22.1 inches at the Philadelphia Airport. This storm was large but Jonas wasn't quite the record-holder. It came close: Saturday's snowfall in Philadelphia was the fifth-greatest calendar-day snowfall ever. And the storm total of 22.4 inches of snow is the fourth-largest on record.

Again, we all at Mack Landscape Management THANK YOU for your patience and your continuing faith in us and our services.

As our employees rest up for a few days, management is still in the office scheduling for spring awaiting your calls!

Summer Wear and Spring Blooms in December

It feels like Spring! To us and our landscape plants. Despite our ability to meander through a park in this respite from the normal chill of winter it is somewhat concerning how our trees, shrubs, and perennials will react to the mid-70's. It has caused mass confusion along the east coast exhibited by revitalized perennials, newly budding shrubs, and full tree blooms.

Here is the scoop:

Cherry trees in full bloom in Mid-December found in N.J.

The record breaking weather this winter has risen most spring blooming perennials, shrubs, and trees from dormancy. This, although beautiful, can put added stress on fruit trees, particularly Apple trees, because the species requires several cold days in order to produce fruit next fall.

Despite early budding many Horticulturalists have shrugged their collective shoulders. It all depends on the unpredictable temperature changes to come. If this warmth remains constant your plants may be just fine. If a cold snap hits rapidly without relative cooling the east coast will see massive damage to trees and shrubs.

So in short, enjoy the warm weather and cross your fingers. In the meantime, Mack Landscape Management is still here doing seasonal pruning, annual contracts, and drafting plans for spring, summer, and fall. Give us a call if you need us and may it be a happy and unseasonably warm holiday for you all!
