MORE ON THE STORMS: The damage from the winter snowfall, ice storms, and flooding is widespread and dramatic all throughout the greater Philadelphia area. The weather has put great pressure on electrical contractors and linemen, gas companies, and as we know, landscape maintenance crews who are at the whims of the escalating salt prices, and storm timing. Mack Landscape Management, LLC. has spread forty tons of salt alone and have logged over 600 man hours over the last few weeks to keep your homes accessible. Storm damage has been reported and was present at 100% of our properties and much more remains to be done once the lingering snow dissipates. If you or a neighbor still haven’t informed us of storm cleanup or tree removals needed please call us! Salt shortages and price gouging has been an increasing difficulty for us as well as your local municipalities this year. This being one of the worst storm sequences in history has led our state to issue a state of emergency. This allows the Federal and State governments to commandeer salt orders and trucks at their leisure. Ultimately, the shortage and demands for highways, as well as the federal statutes for price gouging were overlooked this year when the price for salt soared from $50 per ton to $150.
